Like retired embassadors returned from distant lands -
empires with borders redrawn,
countires no
longer
extant -
coins whisper fragments of history.
They speak of
inflation or
devaluation,
imperialism or
revolution.
Most speak a different
language;
some speak many.
(And some speak Latin!)
